G.R.I.P. Club will host the 2024 Northern Tier Teenage Powerlifting
Championships Aug. 3 here at the high school.
The competition is
open to males and females, and broken down into age groups (11-12,
13-15, 16-17, and 18-19), as well as by weight classes — male (116,130,
145, 163, 182, 205, 321, 264, and 264-plus) female (94, 103, 114, 125,
138, 152, 167, 185, and 185-plus).
There are two divisions —
Equipped and Raw. Awards will be presented to the top three lifters in
each weight class / age group, and a “Best Lifter” will also be awarded
in each division / age group.
All competitors must fall into one
of the four age categories on the day of the competition. Youth
exhibition lifters (11-12) will be allowed, but will not be part of the
team scoring.
The lifting will be performed and judged according to IPF Powerlifting rules.
The fee is $45 per lifter.
Weigh-ins begin at 8 a.m., with a Rules Clinic at 9:30 a.m. Lifting begins at 10 a.m.
All entries must be received by July 25.
