WESTFIELD — Wyalusing pounded out 420 yards on the ground as they rolled past Cowanesque Valley, 37-0, during NTL football action Friday.

Dylan Johns led the way with 196 yards and two scores on 19 carries while Ayden Hunsinger had 122 yards and a touchdown on 17 carries. Ethan Vanderpool added 61 yards on 13 carries with a score, while quarterback Jonathan Earle notched 41 yards on four touches, along with a score.

At the other end they held CV to just 75 yards of total offense, with Indian quarterback Graham Hess going 4-for-17 for 61 yards. Dave Hess had three catches for 45 yards, but CV had just 14 yards rushing.

Earle led the scoring with a 30-yard run at the 6:38 mark of the first quarter. The 2-point conversion failed as the Rams led 6-0.

Then, with 1:49 left to play in the opening frame, Johns scampered for 54-yards to paydirt. He added the 2-point conversion for a 14-0 lead at the first horn.

Johns would get a 44-yard run in the second - with Wyalusing electing for a Jacob Girven kick - to make it 21-0 with 3:07 left until the half.

Hunsinger got into the touchdown party just 1:38 into the third quarter with a 48-yard scoring run. Girven’s kick was good for a 28-0 lead.

The Rams would get a safety with 2:44 left in the third, then Vanderpool punched one in from 2-yards out with 10:36 left in the fourth to put the game into the mercy rule.

Wyalusing (2-0) has a short week as they travel to Wellsboro on Thursday.
