WELLSBORO — The Canton boys’ cross-country team opened with two NTL dual meet wins on Tuesday, beating Wellsboro and Sayre.

Canton beat the Hornets 26-30 and the Redskins 15-50.

Lawrence Halbfoerster (18:41.1) won the race for the Warriors with Simon Wile (21:32.39) fourth. Manuel Halbfoerster (21:40.84) was fifth, Joshua Hess (24:47) took eighth, and Nicholas Weaver (24:50.25) came in 10th.

Canton did not field a girls’ team in the varsity race.

The Warriors will be at the Lasagna Invitational on Friday.
