NTL CROSS-COUNTRY: TOWANDA BOYS WIN LASAGNA TITLE; CANTON'S HALBFOERSTER, WYALUSING'S TEWKSBURY IN TOP FIVE (2024-09-07)

WYALUSING — The Towanda boys’ cross-country team rolled to the Lasagna Invitational title Friday.

The Black Knight pack finished sixth through 11th, scoring 37 points to get the win. Wyalusing (69) was second, with Canton (82) taking third.


Canton’s Lawrence Halbfoerster (17:12.1) was second overall while Wyalusing’s Trennan Tewksbury (17:45.9) came in fourth.


Then came the Black Knights, led by Jack Tavani (18:12.4) in sixth. Jacob Carr (18:23.7) was seventh, Boom Thompson (18:48.6) came in eighth, Hagen Jones (19:17.9) was 10th, and Wyatt Stranger rounded out their top 10, finishing 11th in 19:26.9.


For the Rams Jack Fischer (19:33.2) was 12th, Bradyn Johnson (19:44.4) took 14th, Parker Cunningham (20:15.6) was 19th, and Tyler Caplan (21:55.9) took 30th.


For the Warriors Manuel Halbfoerster (19:36.5) was 13th, Landon Lake (20:23.1) took 21st, Simon Wile (21:21.2) came in 29th, and Joshua Hess (22:39.2) finished 33rd.


Towanda also won the junior high boys’ race, taking the top four spots led by Emmett Klees (10:28.1). They scored 22 points, with Wyalusing (39) second.


Griffin Sheldon led the Rams in fifth at 10:56.7.
