NTL GIRLS' TENNIS: TOWANDA TOPS BUCKTAIL TO GET BACK TO .500 (2024-09-09)
Northern Tier Sports ReportTOWANDA — Towanda girls’ tennis ran their win streak to four as they defeated Bucktail, 4-1, during non-league action Monday.
With the win the Lady Knights improve to 4-4 on the season.
Towanda won two of three singles matches as Nadia Alderfer rallied to beat Kedda Bissman 5-7, 6-3, 6-4 at second singles, while at third singles Emma Ackley defeated Lola English 6-2, 1-6, 6-3.
Bucktail’s Eva Sockman won at first singles over Lainey Alderfer 6-1, 6-2.
The Towanda team of Jaden Conklin and Maddy Blanchard sealed the win with a 7-6 (7-3), 4-6, 6-4 win over Matti Mason and Carrie Ditty at first doubles.
The Black Knight squad of Jenalee Coe and Dalila put the icing on the cake with a 7-6 (7-4), 6-3 win over Riley Salizzoni and Iris Moore at second singles.
Towanda will travel to Wellsboro on Wednesday for a big NTL showdown.
