Northern Tier Sports ReportTwo big NTL boys’ basketball games highlight Monday’s action.
BOYS’ BASKETBALL
Wellsboro (9-2) at Troy (12-2), 6 p.m.: A game that could go a long ways towards deciding the NTL Division-I title. Wellsboro’s loss to NEB puts them a game behind Troy with just a handful left. This is the first meeting between the two teams.
Wyalusing (8-3) at NP-Liberty (9-1), 6 p.m.: Another game that could go a long ways towards deciding an NTL title, this time the NTL Division-II title. The Rams are two games behind NPL in the loss column, and likely need a win here to keep their title hopes alive.
GIRLS’ BASKETBALL
Troy (4-8) at Towanda (11-1), 6 p.m.: The Knights are coming off their first loss of the season, and will look to get their mojo back at home. Troy is coming off a big win over Canton to sweep the season series as they put together a playoff push.
Wyalusing (7-3) at Sullivan County (6-4), 8 p.m.: Wyalusing will look to improve their district playoff positioning with a non-league win. The Griffins are coming off a 35 point win over Towanda on Saturday.
Canton (4-7) at Williamson (4-10), 6 p.m.: Canton will look to rally after back to back losses to NEB and Troy last week. They beat Williamson at home earlier in the season.
