ON TAP TODAY: A BIG RACE UP AT MT. PISGAH HIGHLIGHTS TODAY'S ACTION (2024-09-17)

Northern Tier Sports Report
Plenty of action around the area highlighted by Towanda and Wyalusing heading to Mt. Pisgah to face Troy in cross-country, along with a big NTL volleyball match as Troy travels to Wellsboro. Girls’ soccer and volleyball are also on the schedule.

CROSS-COUNTRY

Towanda, Wyalusing, at Troy, 4:30 p.m.: Towanda and Troy will likely decide the NTL Large School boys’ champion at Mt. Pisgah for the second time in two years. On the girls’ side there are several individual state qualifiers in the race as the Lady Knights look to stay undefeated.


NEB at Canton, 4:30 p.m.: Canton and NEB boys come in undefeated on the season.


VOLLEYBALL

NEB (8-0) at Canton (2-4), 7:30 p.m.: The Panthers won the first match 3-0 as they look to run away in the District IV, Class A standings. Canton is coming off a thrilling 3-1 win over South Williamsport.


Troy (5-1) at Wellsboro (6-1), 7:30 p.m.: A match-up of two undefeated teams in the NTL Large School Division. Wellsboro recently lost to Williamsport, 3-0, a team Troy beat 3-2.


Williamson (5-0) at Wyalusing (3-4), 7:30 p.m.: The Rams have battled back after a tough start to get close to .500. The Warriors are undefeated in match play so far this year as they sit atop the District IV, Class AA standings.


GIRLS’ SOCCER

Troy (7-1) at NEB (1-6-1), 4 p.m.: The Trojans stayed undefeated in league play with their win over Wyalusing, while NEB is coming off two tough losses this past Saturday. This will be NEB’s senior night.


Towanda (2-4) at Wellsboro (2-4), 5:30 p.m.: The Knights are riding a 2-match winning streak as they head out west The Hornets are coming off a 4-0 loss to Hughesville.
