NTL CROSS-COUNTRY: NEB BOYS, GIRLS EARN SWEEPS AT CANTON (2024-09-17)
Northern Tier Sports ReportCANTON — The NEB boys and girls cross-country teams came away with dual meet wins over Canton on Tuesday.
NEB won the boys’ race 19-43 as Panther Creed Dewing (16:54) won the race. Canton’s Lawrence Halbfoerster (17:11) was second, followed by six Panthers.
Rounding out NEB’s top five were Ryan Jones (17:39), Jackson Martin (18:58), Tanner Herb (19:16), and Brody Bennett (19:17.14).
Canton took nine through 11, beginning with Manuel Halbfoerster (19:32). He was followed by Simon Wile (20:01) and Landon Lake (20:13).
Nick Weaver (21:52) was 13th as Canton’s fifth.
The Lady Panthers won the girls’ race 15-50 as Canton didn’t have any runners.
Anaiah Kolesar (22:35) led NEB, followed by Amelia Kapr (23:11), Sophie Bennett (23:36), Kara Dughi (23:45), and Ruth Laudermilch (24:02).
In the junior high girls’ race NEB’s Julia Laudermilch (10:25) edged out Canton’s Elizabeth Halbfoerster (10:40) for first.
NEB’s Levi Dewing (8:48) won the junior high boys’ race.
