NTL VOLLEYBALL: TROY SWEEPS WELLSBORO FOR 6TH STRAIGHT WIN (2024-09-18)

Northern Tier Sports Report
WELLSBORO — Troy volleyball rolled to their sixth straight win, beating Wellsboro 3-0 in NTL action Tuesday.

The Trojans won the sets 25-20, 25-14, and 25-22.

“The girls showed up for this ready to play and win,” said Troy coach Abby Herman. “Our defense is getting better but still needs a few adjustments. Block coverage hurt us a tad, but luckily our setter, Brennan (Jackson) connected well with her hitters, and set them up around the blockers.”

Aryana Andrus had 10 kills, four digs, and three blocks for the Trojans with Kali Ayres getting nine kills, two aces, and six digs.

Jackson had 29 assists, four aces, six digs, and a block, with Marlee Stanton adding six kills, four aces, and seven digs.

Josie Kerrick notched three kills, one assist, and five digs, while Camryn Barbour had two kills, and two digs.

Alli Bailey finished with six digs, and a kill, as Haidyn Watson had seven digs, and Amber White finished with a kill.

“I’m very proud of this team and the work they’re putting in this early to get wins like we did tonight,” continued Herman. “It takes the whole team - girls on the court and the bench - and they just are finding their rhythm more and more with each set.”

Troy (6-1) will host Towanda on Thursday with a 7:30 p.m. start.
