NTL CROSS-COUNTRY: DEWING TAKES THIRD TO PACE NEB BOYS AT MCQUAID (2024-09-28)
Northern Tier Sports ReportROCHESTER, N.Y. — Creed Dewing’s top three finish in the Small School race at McQuaid Invitational paced the NEB boys cross-country team to a second place finish.
The Panthers scored 196 places, behind winners Maple Grove (136).
Dewing (15:40.4) was third with Ryan Jones (16:29.8) took 17th.
Jackson Martin (17:17.5) took 50th, Brody Bennett (17:51.5) was 75th, and Russell Martin (18:00.2) came in 85th.
In the girls’ varsity A-2 race Anaiah Kolesar (21:12.8) led NEB with a 37th place finish.
Sophie Bennett (21:27.5) was 53rd, Kara Dughi (22:51.1) took 117th, Amelia Kapr (22:57) finished 124th, and Ruth Laudermilch (23:03) rounded out the top five in 132nd.
NEB took 11th as a team with 328 places.
Asher Kolesar (9:06.7) was fifth to lead NEB in the boys’ junior high race. Also in the top 10 were Josiah Russell (9:10.7) and Anthony Johnson (9:11.2), taking ninth and 10th.
NEB (39) easily won the junior high race, besting second place by 60 points.
In the small school junior high girls’ race Charlotte Martin (11:56.3) led NEB with a 62nd place finish.
