NTL GIRLS' SOCCER: WYALUSING SCORES A PAIR OF LATE GOALS TO DOWN NEB (2024-10-01)
Northern Tier Sports ReportWYALUSING — Wyalusing broke a 1-1 tie with two late second half goals as they defeated NEB, 3-1, during their annual pink game in NTL girls’ soccer action Tuesday.
“Mario and I are really proud of the girls today,” said Wyalusing coach Gary Haley. “The girls were really aggressive offensively, and we have been really working on that in practice. It was probably our best offensive game in a while.”
Three different girls found the back of the net for the Rams, as Chloe Bennett, Alysha Botts, and Kenzie Kintner all scored.
Mallorie Maynard had the Panther goal off a Jocelyn Brown assist.
Wyalusing had a 24-6 edge in shots, and 8-5 advantage in corner kicks.
Leah Beebe had 20 saves in net for the Panthers, as Sophia Alvarez made seven stops for the Rams.
Wyalusing hosts Wellsboro on Thursday with 4 p.m. start while NEB is at Sullivan County on Saturday with an 11 a.m. start.
