NTL CROSS-COUNTRY: NEB BOYS EARN QUAD MEET SWEEP, CLAIM NTL TITLE (2024-10-02)
Northern Tier Sports ReportWYALUSING — The NEB boys’ cross-country team finished the season undefeated as they swept an NTL quad meet on Tuesday.
The Panthers beat Wyalusing (18-44), Sayre (15-50), and NP-Mansfield (19-44). Wyalusing defeated Sayre (18-37) and NP-Mansfield (25-30).
“It feels good,” NEB coach Dillon Lockwood said. “I know they’re strong, and we were hopeful and excited that it came to fruition.”
NEB’s Creed Dewing (16:52) won the race to go undefeated in the NTL with teammate Ryan Jones (17:15) in third.
Jackson Martin (18:19) was fifth, Brody Bennett (18:39) took sixth, and Russell Martin (18:40) rounded out the top five in seventh.
Trennan Tewksbury (18:11) led the Rams with a fourth place finish. Bradyn Johnson (19:11) was ninth, Jack Fischer (19:40) took 13th, Parker Cunningham (20:17) was 14th, and Zibiah Walton (22:20) came in 18th.
In the junior high boys’ race NEB’s Asher Kolesar (10:36) edged out Wyalusing’s Griffin Sheldon (10:39) to win.
NEB got the sweep, beating Wyalusing (22-35), Sayre (15-50), and NPM (15-48). Wyalusing won over Sayre (15-45) and NPM (15-43).
“I want to keep everybody healthy,” Lockwood said about the next few weeks as they get ready for districts. “We had a couple guys out today, but I think we’re showing the team can step up into those spaces.”
