Northern Tier Sports Report
A busier Thursday with the first day of District IV golf highlighting today’s action. On the courts NEB travels to Williamson in a big NTL Small School match-up.

GOLF

District IV Championships at Williamsport Country Club, 11 a.m.: The first round of action will feature players from around the NTL go off on a shotgun start.


VOLLEYBALL

Towanda (4-6) at NPL (6-4), 7:30 p.m.: The Knights get their shot at the defending NTL Large School champions in the first of two meetings between them.


NEB (13-0) at Williamson (8-1), 7:30 p.m.: A big Small School match-up. NEB leads the Warriors by one match in the loss column in the divisional title.


Canton (6-5) at CV (4-6), 7:30 p.m.: Canton won the first match-up 3-0, and a win here would go a long way to sealing up the second seed in the District IV, Class A playoffs.


Sayre (0-10) at Wyalusing (3-8), 7:30 p.m.: The Rams will be looking to nab a win to end the week while Sayre has yet to win a set this year.


GIRLS’ SOCCER

NEB (2-10-2) at Troy (11-1), 4 p.m.: The Panthers hit the road to Troy, who won 8-0 in their first meeting.


Wellsboro (2-5-2) at Wyalusing (5-4-2), 4 p.m.: Their first meeting in Wellsboro ended in a scoreless tie.


Towanda (4-6) at Northumberland Christian School (0-5-1), 5 p.m.: A good chance for the Knights to pick up a win as they travel down south again.


GIRLS’ TENNIS

Towanda (8-5) at Bucktail (4-2), 4 p.m.: The final regular season match of the season for the Knights. They beat Bucktail 4-1 earlier in the season.
