NTL VOLLEYBALL: NEB LOSES FIRST MATCH OF SEASON, FALLS TO WELLSBORO 3-2 (2024-10-08)

ROME — NEB dropped a marathon NTL match against Wellsboro, 3-2, for their first loss of the season Tuesday.

NEB won the first set 25-21, but the Hornets rallied for back to back set wins of 25-20 to take a 2-1 lead.

The Panthers would out last Wellsboro, 34-32, to even things up in the fourth set, but a 15-5 Wellsboro win in the fifth set gave them the match.

For NEB Toni Herb had a double-double of 18 kills and 25 digs to go with two aces, while Abby O’Connor had 17 kills, three blocks, four digs, and two aces.

Kiarra DeLancey had 23 digs, four kills, and an ace, as Abby Chobot notched 10 digs, six kills, three assists, and three aces.

Zaelea Lane had a double-double of 14 digs and 13 assists to go with a kill, while Kelsea Moore also had a double-double of 25 assists and 16 digs plus two kills, and two aces.

Sayde Heines chipped in with a kill and a dig.

NEB will look to rebound at Athens on Thursday.
