NTL VOLLEYBALL: TOWANDA DOWNS HUGHESVILLE 3-1 (2024-10-12)

TOWANDA — Towanda held off a spunky challenge from Hughesville 3-1 in non-league volleyball action Saturday. The Knights won the first set 25-23, but the Spartans rallied for a 25-23 win in the second set. 

Towanda pulled out all the stops after that, winning the next two sets 25-9 and 25-11.

Brooklyn Evans was strong at the net with 26 kills, while getting 10 digs for the double-double. She also had four blocks, four points, and two aces.

Karis Flynn had a double-double of 32 assists and 16 points for Towanda, to go with four aces, nine digs, seven kills, and two blocks.

Brynsen Vargason had a double-double of 21 points and 11 digs while adding six kills, and four aces.

Kaya Johnson had 17 points, three aces, six kills, two assists, one dig, and one block, with Lariah Long adding 10 digs and three points.

Lillie Maynard had eight digs, one kill, and two points as Layla Miller notched six digs and a kill.

Alyssa Dulaney had four digs, three kills, a point, and an ace, Caedence Wells added a point, as LilyAnn Sproule had a kill and a block. Hannah Crawford chipped in with a dig, two points, and two aces.

Towanda won the JV match 25-20 and 25-14.

Kendall Kellogg had six kills, three points, two aces, and a dig, as Ali Hollett had 12 assists, nine points, four aces, and one dig.

Crawford finished with seven points, four aces, five kills, and a block, while London Decker had three kills, with two digs.

Kylie Barnes notched a kill with a point, Lennon Rice had four points, with Mollie Roberts getting two points and a dig.

Alayna Rankin had two kills with a point, as Reese Sullivan had two digs, and Nozila Ismailova and Layla Longcoy got one.

Addie Barrett chipped in with two kills, while Paige Buchanan had a point.
