NTL BOYS' SOCCER: TOWANDA DROPS SEASON FINALE AT SHAMOKIN (2024-10-15)
Northern Tier Sports ReportSHAMOKIN — Towanda boys’ soccer came up just short in their bid to make districts, falling 6-2 to Shamokin during non-league action Tuesday.
Coming into the week they needed to win their last match to get to .500, and things were going well at the start as the game was tied 1-1 at the half. Shamokin, though, pushed through fall goals in the second half to pull away.
Jack Wheaton and Hudson Stephens had the two Towanda goals, as JT Hall and Colin Steinhart had hat tricks for Shamokin.
Towanda had a slight edge in shots 18-15 while keeper Blaiz Nichols made nine saves in net.
