Tioga senior Jake Browne turned in a record-breaking performance, and Wellsboro sophomore Lauren Kosek was a District 4 runner-up. They are The Sports Reports / Ziff Law Firm Regional "Athletes of the Week," for the week ending Oct. 26.

TIOGA'S BROWNE NAMED ZIFF LAW FIRM REGIONAL BOYS "ATHLETE OF THE WEEK"
Browne not only broke school records for yards and TDs in a game in Tioga's rout of state-ranked Deposit-Hancock, he broke the Section IV record for yards in a game, and tied the Section mark for TDs in a game.

Browne rushed for 421 yards and eight TDs on 32 carries, including scoring runs of 22, 46, and 40.

Browne had 271 yards and five TDs in the first half alone.

Honorable Mentions: North Penn-Mansfield's Cooper Shaw (football), Edison's Greg Golden (football), and Owego's Vasil Brich (soccer).

WELLSBORO'S KOSEK NAMED ZIFF LAW FIRM REGIONAL GIRLS "ATHLETE OF THE WEEK"
Kosek finished second at the District 4, Class AA Cross Country Championships at Bloomsburg University.

Kosek, who clocked in at 18:17.2, pushed defending PIAA champion Baylee Espinosa, who eventually won the District title.

Athens' Sara Bronson (cross country), Corning's Maddie Wood (cross country), and Owego's Lexi Herceg (volleyball).
