NTL CROSS-COUNTRY: DESPITE LOW NUMBERS WYALUSING SEES SUCCESS ON THE COURSE (2024-11-12)
BY CHRIS MANNINGNorthern Tier Sports ReportWyalusing saw two runners finish their season at states in 2024 as they fought off tough numbers to be competitive by the end of the season.
The Lady Rams took second in the NTL Small School standings, falling in a close dual to NEB at the end of the season.
They were third overall at the NTL Coaches’ Invitational and the District IV, Class A Championships with Megan King taking fifth overall to earn a state berth.
King took home a top 75 finish at the PIAA Championships, finishing 75th overall.
The boys’ struggled with fielding a full team during the season due to injuries, but got enough by the end of the year to take fourth at the District IV, Class A Championships.
Senior Trennan Tewksbury took sixth overall to punch his ticket to states, where he had a top 50 finish, coming in 41st.
King returns for the girls, along with three other of their top five runners in Camryn Gesford, Riley Porter, and Marci Gowin.
The boys’, despite losing Tewksbury, return four sophomores in Bradyn Johnson, Parker Cunningham, Tyler Caplan, and Jack Fischer.
