COLLEGE: TROY'S SEYMOUR PICKS UP WIN DURING LEHIGH DUAL VICTORY (2024-11-17)
BY BRYAN SEYMOURNorthern Tier Sports ReportA short week saw the Lehigh Mountain Hawks back in action last evening as they hosted Morgan State in their first EIWA dual of the season. In the first meeting between the two programs, Lehigh scored the big win, 37-7, to open the dual meet season.
Getting the night started off for the Mountain Hawks, Sheldon Seymour took to the mats against Treshaun Tecson. Seymour would open up the first period scoring with a takedown and then went to work on top, building up ride time. At the end of the first period, the score is 3-0 Seymour with 1:57 in ride time.
To start the second period Tecson defers to the third period with Seymour choosing the down position. Opening the second period with an escape and then another takedown. With the second period coming to an end Seymour takes the lead 7-0 with 2:59 in ride time.
In the third period, Tecson chooses the neutral position. Seymour scores another takedown. Seymour goes with the optional start and lets Tecson up to take a 10-1 lead. With another takedown for the 13-1 lead, Seymour put Tecson to his back with some great chain wrestling. Seymour scored the fall at the 6:24 mark in the match to put Lehigh up 6-0 after one match.
Lehigh will be back in action Sunday, November 24, when they travel to in-state rival Pittsburg for a top-25 matchup.
