NTL WRESTLING: TROY WELCOMES NEW COACH, GARRETT WESKNESKI (2024-11-21)

TROY — Troy wrestling has a new coach, and it’s a familiar face that comes with quite the pedigree. Canton graduate and Division-III Collegiate National Champion, Garrett Wesneski, has moved from the assistant’s chair to the top spot this season.

“It’s exciting,” said Wesneski. “I think it’s one of those things that, once I got out of college, I knew I wanted to get into coaching. I know Coach Krebs at (Lycoming) was pushing for me to getting into some colleges, and there’s a couple of openings I thought about doing. I got job up this way, and things fell into place - I was doing my Master’s Degree, and I stepped in as the assistant two weeks into the season, and, the same thing, things fell into place and I’m super excited to do it.”

Wesneski is in the same boat as the boys’ hoops team, waiting on half his team to finish up their football playoff run, but until that time, who is in the room will keep working hard for the start of the season.
