TOWANDA JH GIRLS EARN SWEEPS OVER NPM, CV (2024-11-25)

Towanda junior high girls’ hoops continued to roll with two sweeps in two different match-ups recently.

Towanda junior high girls basketball picked up a 39-21 win over NPM with Taylor Aquilio scoring 18 points followed by Maris Cobb and Mila Santiago with eight points each.  Rhyann Kithcart and Maci Alexander scored two points apiece and Kaylen Sluyter sank a free throw for a point.


For NPM, Julia Kaczynski scored 12 points and Kylee Lightner three points.  Sophie Route, Maleah Hanowalt and Hallie Kipferl scored two points each.


In the second game of the night, Towanda won 31-14.  Maci Alexander led all scorers with 12 points, Brielle Wright seven points, Rhyan Kithcart five points, Gemma Brown four points, and Julia Parker three points.


For NPM, Hallie Kipferl scored six points followed by Kylee Lightner, Abby Youmans and Raelyn Weiskopff with two points each.


Taylor Aquilio led all scorers with 20 points as Towanda won 48-8 over CV.  Kaylen Sluyter scored eight points, Mila Santiago seven points, and Maris Cobb six points.  Gemma Brown and Lily Bartholomew rounded out Towanda's scoring with four points and three points respectively.


For CV, four girls scored two points each:  P. Butler, A. Watkins, B. Balada, and B. Maun.


The second game of the day saw Towanda win 20-10.  For Towanda, Lesley Parker and Julia Parker scored four points each.  Lily Bartholomew and Johna Miller scored three points each.  Rhyann Kithcart, Maci Alexander and Gemma Brown scored two points apiece.


For CV, L. Stahu scored four points and E. Carl, A. Watkins and A. Dennis scored two points each.


Towanda takes on Wyalusing on December 3 with a 6 p.m. start.
