AOW: TROY'S FRYE, WYALUSING'S BOTTS HAVE BIG WEEKS (2024-12-01)

Troy football continued their march to the state title game while Wyalusing girls’ basketball opened their season.

Troy had some big defensive plays in their 35-14 win over Riverside in the state semifinals with Joseph Frye getting two of them. He had an interception that led to a touchdown, and he also had a pass break-up in the end zone denying a touchdown, earning him the Male Athlete of the Week honors.

Wyalusing came up short against Waverly in their season opener but Alysha Botts had a big night, leading the Rams with 15 points, including a 9-for-13 effort from the free throw line to be this week’s Female Athlete of the Week.
