ON TAP FOR TODAY: TOWANDA GIRLS LOOK TO CLINCH AT ATHENS, BIG BOYS' GAME WITH NPL AT CANTON (2021-02-24)

After an exciting Tuesday night, Wednesday offers up some other games that could try and match it.

GIRLS’ BASKETBALL

Towanda (15-1) at Athens (14-5), 6 p.m.: The Knights can clinch the NTL title with a win at the Wildcats. They used a furious fourth quarter surge to beat Athens at home a few weeks ago, and are coming off a win over Troy on Monday. Athens avenged an earlier season loss against Wyalusing on Tuesday.

NP-Mansfield (4-6) at Wyalusing (9-4), 6 p.m.: The Lady Rams will be looking to bounce back from their loss to Athens on Tuesday. They recently beat the Tigers last Saturday, and are looking good to finish fifth in the District IV, Class AA standings.

CV (1-15) at NEB (11-3), 6 p.m.: The Panthers look to wrap up their Small School schedule. It’s gotten very tight at the top of the District IV, Class AA standings as just .02 points separate 1-thru-4, with NEB currently in fourth.

Wellsboro (5-7) at Troy (6-9), 6 p.m.: The Trojans continue their playoff push as they look to avenge a loss to the Hornets from last week. Wellsboro isn’t allowed to play in districts unless they are .500, so will need a win here to reach that goal.

North Rome Christian School at Canton (4-11), 4 p.m.: The first of two home games for the Lady Warriors in a non-league match-up, in the first part of a double-header with the boys. Canton has had some close losses recently, so will be looking to get over that hump.

BOYS’ BASKETBALL

NP-Liberty (10-2) at Canton (9-7), 6 p.m.: The Warriors are coming off two back to back 80 point performances during their playoff push. They’re trying to hold off NEB for the third seed in the District IV, Class AA playoffs - the two teams are separated by .02 points - and a win over the NTL Division-II leading Mounties would help that. NP-Liberty is coming off a tough loss to Troy.
