NTL GIRLS' WRESTLING: ALLIS TAKES 2ND AT TOWANDA HAS FOUR MEDALISTS AT QUEEN OF THE HILL (2024-12-14)
Northern Tier Sports ReportHONESDALE — The Towanda girls wrestling team took sixth with 99 points at the Queen of the Hill competition, led by JC Allis’ second place finish Saturday.
Elizabeth Naughton (170) was third, Shaylynn Morris (235) took fourth, and Natalyn Morris (112) came in sixth.
Allis (124) used two falls and two tech falls to the reach the finals, where she lost to High Point’s Elle Changaris by fall in 4:30.
Naughton opened the day with a pin, then was pinned herself. After that, though, she won four straight matches - all by fall - to take bronze. In the third place match she pinned Panther Valley’s Alisa Williams, who gave her her only loss of the tournament in the second round.
Shaylynn went 2-2, with losses to Athens’ Leah Nason by fall. She pinned her other two opponents she faced.
Natalyn went 3-3 on the day, winning her first match by fall. She lost her, then won the two after that to get into the medals. Natalyn would drop her final two matches to take sixth.
Ily Benjamin (136), Kenzie Brown (130), and Lylah Bride (148) all went 2-2 on the day, with Alivia Spicer (155), Hayley Larsen (130), and Kaylee Johnson (100) all going 1-2. Deztine Matthews (155), and Hailey Petrowski (124) both went 0-2.
