SULLIVAN COUNTY TOPS BENTON FOR THIRD STRAIGHT WIN (2024-12-14)
Northern Tier Sports ReportLAPORTE — Sullivan County boys’ basketball rolled past Benton, 52-22, during Mid-Penn action Saturday.
Cayden Smithkors had 14 points, five boards, and three steals for the Griffins, as Ryan Murray added 10 points and eight rebounds.
Colin King notched seven points and five boards, as Tucker Blasi had eight points, Jaiden Moore scored six, Dominick Marotti netted five, and Lucas King added four.
Nolan Bardua led Benton with 12 points.
The Griffins jumped out to a 22-5 first quarter lead with Colin King scoring five to lead the way for Sullivan.
A 9-7 second frame in favor of Sullivan made it a 31-12 game at the half.
The Griffins shut the door with a 13-7 run in the third quarter behind seven points from Smithkors.
Sullivan won the JV game 38-17 as Landon Bahr and Carter Blasi had 10 points each.
Sullivan will host Meadowbrook on Monday.
