HUGHESVILLE — Wyalusing dropped a tough one to the defending District IV champions, Hughesville, 71-28 during non-league girls’ hoops action Monday.

The Spartans jumped out to a 22-2 first quarter lead in the win.

Alysha Botts and Chloe Bennett had nine points each to lead the Rams as Ellie Adams scored three. Treanna Nickeson, Emily Fowler, and Emily Johns all scored two, with Alissa Baldwin netting one.

Maddie Smith led Hughesville with 27 points with Alli Anstadt scoring 13, and Vivian Draper netting 12.

Wyalusing (2-3) travels to NEB on Wednesday.
