NTL GIRLS' BASKETBALL: CANTON USES STRONG START TO DOWN MEADOWBROOK CHRISTIAN (2024-12-16)

CANTON — Canton jumped out early as they rolled past Meadowbrook Christian, 48-25, during non-league girls’ hoops action Monday.

The Warriors led 18-5 after the first quarter and never looked back.


Kendall Kitchen had 16 points and two steals to lead Canton, while Cailyn VanNoy netted 12 points on 5-for-9 shooting, with six steals.


Alexis McRoberts was a perfect 4-for-4 from the floor for eight points to go with nine boards, while Lydia Roupp was 3-for-5 for seven points.


Stella Rockwell had three points, Cheyenne Fitch scored two points to go with four rebounds, with Danah Wesneski adding three steals.


Maddy Fasnacht led Meadowbrook with 10 points.


Kitchen had seven first quarter points as Canton took their 13 point lead into the second quarter. They held Meadowbrook to just two second quarter points as they built a 31-7 lead at the half.


Meadowbrook tried to get back into the game, out scoring Canton 12-8 in the third, but a 9-6 fourth in favor of the Warriors - led by five points from Roupp - gave them the win.


Canton (3-2) hosts Troy on Wednesday.
