NTL BOYS' BASKETBALL: CANTON DROPS GAME TO NP-MANSFIELD (2024-12-17)
Northern Tier Sports ReportCANTON — Canton suffered their first loss of the season, falling to NP-Mansfield 64-36 during NTL boys’ basketball action Tuesday.
The Tigers led 38-13 at the half, with Canton rallying in the third 13-7 to cut it to 45-26. NPM then scored 19 points in the fourth to secure the win.
Talin Williams led Canton with 15 points while Ben Fitch scored six. Quincy Wesneski netted five, Simon Wile added four, as Andrew Smith and Monte Whitehead had three points each.
Alex Davis led NPM with 19 points as Cooper Shaw scored 16, and Tayton Strange netted 12.
Davis had 10 points in the first quarter as NPM jumped out to a 20-7 first quarter lead, while Strange scored nine in the second to help build the Tigers’ 25 point advantage at the half.
Williams scored seven of his team’s 13 points in the first half.
In the third Warriors got threes from Williams and Wesneski as they rallied. However, in the fourth Shaw wen toff for eight points to bring the win home for NPM.
Canton (3-1) travels to CV on Thursday.
