NTL GIRLS' BASKETBALL: TOWANDA USES BIG FIRST, THIRD QUARTERS TO DOWN WILLIAMSON (2024-12-18)

TIOGA JUNCTION — Towanda jumped out fast as they rolled past Williamson, 57-36, during NTL girls’ basketball action Wednesday.

The Knights led 22-6 after one, while the Warriors cut it to 29-17 at the half. A 21-point third quarter from Towanda secured the win for them.


Four different Knights were in double figures, as Mya Maynard had a double-double of 12 points and 16 rebounds, to go with two steals.


Brynn Woodruff had 13 points, six boards, two steals, and two blocks, with Payton Perry getting 13 points, and five steals.


Kennedy Heyer had 10 points and two steals, as Karis Flynn added two points, six boards, and two steals.


Mary-Kate Eberlin scored four, with Ali Hollett netting three.


Kenna Thomas had 13 to lead Williamson.


Maynard led the Knights in their big first frame with eight points, while Perry and Hollett both hit 3-pointers.


Thomas led Williamson’s second quarter surge with seven points as they made it a 12-point game at the break.


Perry hit two 3-balls in the third to lead Towanda’s game deciding frame, while Woodruff added five points. 


Towanda (2-1) hosts NP-Liberty on Friday.
