NTL BOYS' BASKETBALL: BURBAGE'S BIG NIGHT LEADS TROY PAST WYALUSING (2024-12-19)
Northern Tier Sports ReportTROY — Troy defeated Wyalusing, 80-13, in their boys’ basketball home opener during NTL action Thursday.
The Trojans had five different players in double figures, led by Jack Burbage’s 24 points, to go with six rebounds, four assists, two steals, and two blocks.
Lincoln Chimics added 15 points, and four steals, as freshman Joey Lackey had 11 points, and two steals.
Joseph Frye and Evan Woodward had 10 points each, with Frye adding four assists, and Woodward getting five assists, and four steals.
Trey Teribury had three points to go with four boards, as Spencer Martin had three points, eight assists, and two steals.
Cameron Morey chipped in with two points, six rebounds, three steals, and three blocks, while Cole Sterling rounded out the scorers with two points.
Jared VandeMark had six points to lead Wyalusing, with Hunter House scoring three.
Shay Gartland, and Will McBride, scored two points apiece.
Troy jumped out to a 25-3 first quarter lead as Burbage scored 11, and Chimics netted nine. Burbage added 11 more in the second with Troy taking a 52-9 lead at the half.
Lackey scored all 11 of his points in the third to pace Troy for a 74-11 lead after three.
Troy (2-0) will host NP-Mansfield Saturday with a 7 p.m. start, while Wyalusing (0-6) is at the NP-Liberty Tournament.
