NTL BOYS' BASKETBALL: CANTON FALLS TO CV ON THE ROAD (2024-12-19)
Northern Tier Sports ReportWESTFIELD — Canton lost a tight contest at CV, 48-47, during NTL boys’ basketball action Thursday.
The Warriors 24-21 at the half, but CV took the lead with a 19 point third quarter. Canton entered the fourth down 40-33, but rallied, however, they just couldn’t get over the hump.
Talin Williams had 16 points to lead Canton as Ben Fitch added 11. Rylan Wesneski netted eight, with Monte Whitehead scoring five.
Quincy Wesneski notched three, while Simon Wile, and Ryder Route had two points each.
Ashton Burchick led CV with 15 points as Levi Stahli netted 11.
CV led 12-11 after the first quarter though Fitch started hot, hitting three buckets for seven points.
Canton would out score CV 13-9 in the second behind six points from Williams to take the three point lead.
In the third Burchick hit two 3-balls to lead the Indians’ comeback as they had eight field goals in the frame.
Fitch and Williams had four points apiece as Canton tried to rally.
Canton (3-2) will host Millville on Monday.
