Finish first semester finals and head east. That is exactly what CJ Carr of Lock Haven did. Wrestling unattached for Lock Haven, Carr joined fellow teammate Hudson Ward at the Wilkes Open.

Wrestling at the 141-pound weight class, Carr opened his day up in the round of 32  wrestling Jared Galang of Marymount University. Carr would open the match with the first takedown and never look back. He would add three sets of 4 back points to win his first match by technical fall 15-0 in 1:43.

Moving on to the round of 16, Carr would face Marley Washington of Davidson University. Carr again would get the first-period takedown to take a 3-0 lead into the second. Carr would choose the down position. Carr would not be able to get off the bottom and head to the third period with a 3-0 lead. Going neutral to start the third Carr would give up the takedown and then secure the 2-point reversal to regain the lead 5-3. Carr would get reversed late in the period to tie the score. However, Carr would lose 6-5 by adding the ride time point to make it 6-5.

Dropping to the consi round of 16#2, Carr would face Andy Beras of New Jersey City University. Carr again got the match’s first takedown and added a set of back points to take the 7-0 lead into the second period. Starting the second in the neutral position Carr would get the 3 point takedown and again add set of back points to take a 13-0 lead into the third period.  Carr would choose neutral and end the match with another takedown to win by technical fall 16-0 in 5:36.

Headed to the consi round of 8 #1, Carr would face Charleston Baglio of Appalachian State. After a scoreless first period, Carr would start the second period in the top position. Carr would give up the escape to go down 1-0 heading into the third. Carr chooses the bottom and earns the reversal to go up 2-1. However, Carr would give up the escape. Then a last-second takedown and a set of back points by Baglio would end the match 9-2, with Carr taking the loss.

Carr would finish the day 2-2. Now Carr can head home for a much-needed family time and enjoy the holidays before heading back to Lock Haven for the second half of the wrestling season.
