THE SPORTS REPORTS: WELLSBORO'S KOSEK NAMED ALL-REGION GIRLS 'ATHLETE OF THE FALL;' FOUR BRADFORD COUNTY GIRLS MAKE THE LIST (2025-01-04)

Wellsboro’s Lauren Kosek picked things up several notches in her sophomore season, and is The Sports Reports' 2024 All-Region Girls "Athlete of the Fall."

Kosek went undefeated in NTL dual meets, and won the gold medal at the NTL Coaches Invitational.

She placed second at the District IV, Class AA Championships, and earned a sixth-place finish at the PIAA, Class AA Championships.

She was also The Sports Reports' 2024 All-Region Girls’ "Runner of the Year."

Lauryn Kosek, sophomore, Wellsboro:

Mira Kittle, junior, Waverly: Kittle currently holds the Waverly school records in the 50- and 100-yard freestyle sprints, and the 100-yard backstroke and butterfly, as well as the six-dive school record.

She has also been a part of all three school-record holding relays, including two that brought home state medals this fall. She qualified for States in three individual events — 50 and 100 free, and 100 backstroke — this fall.

Alexis McRoberts, junior Canton football / Troy soccer: McRoberts led Troy soccer to an undefeated NTL season, and a final four appearance in the district playoffs. She scored 18 goals, and had three assists, while playing a dominant defensive role for the Trojans.

McRoberts was also the most consistent kicker in the league for the Warriors this season. She was 39-for-41 on extra points, was 3-for-3 on field goals with a long of 35 yards, and also had several touchbacks this year.

Phoebe Swartz, senior, Candor volleyball: Swartz was a floor general in the truest sense of the word, was also a presence at the net and at the service line, registering 493 setter assists on the season, to go along with 250 service points, including 70 aces, 67 kills, 14 blocks and 120 digs.

McKenna Keough, senior, Notre Dame soccer:
A dominant offensive player, Keough had 22 goals and 16 assists this year, leading players in the region in points this year while leading the Crusaders to a Section IV title.

Gracee Work, senior, Corning volleyball:
Work led Corning to a Section IV title. The senior racked up 247 kills, 224 digs, 41 assists, 13 blocks and had a 92-percent serve rate.

Toni Herb, senior, NEB volleyball: Toni Herb had 309 kills, 285 digs, and 56 aces as she led the Panthers to their second straight league and district titles.

Emmi Makie, sophomore, Candor volleyball: Makie was a force at the net, led the team at the service line and could play defense as well, racking up 290 points with 91 aces, 198 kills, 15 blocks, 69 digs and 10 assists.

Kali Ayres, senior, Troy volleyball: Troy Kali Ayres finished with 222 kills, 332 digs, and 32 aces as the Trojans won their first league title in a decade, and reached the district finals.

Izzy Larson, sophomore, Towanda cross country: Larson was a top-five finisher at the District IV, Class AA Championships, and just missed out at a state medal, while leading the Knights to an undefeated league season.

Lexi Urena, senior, Wellsboro volleyball: Urena led the Hornets with 177 kills and added 163 service points with 58 aces, 273 digs and 14 blocks en route to the program's first District 4 title since 2016.

Raegan VanGorden, junior, Williamson volleyball:
VanGorden racked up 562 assists, 198 service points with 61 aces, 69 kills and 308 digs for the 13-5 Lady Warriors.

Sibby Lowe, senior Horseheads swimming: Lowe swam four events on Day 1 at the New York state championships. She came back on the second day of states to swim in three different events. She missed a state medal by one spot.
