NTL BOYS' BASKETBALL: WYALUSING FALLS AGAINST WELLSBORO (2025-01-08)
Northern Tier Sports ReportWYALUSING — Wyalusing fell 56-41 to Wellsboro during NTL boys’ basketball action Tuesday.
The Hornets jumped out to a 32-17 lead at the half, but the Rams played them even in the second half, with both teams scoring 24 points.
Shay Gartland led the way for Wyalusing with nine points, while Will McBride finished with seven.
Zabiah Walton, and Hunter House had six points each, as Myles Kershner notched five, Tyler Caplan had four, with Ashton VandeMark, and Aiden Neiley both scoring two.
Mitchel Lechler led Wellsboro with 13 as Colin Fletcher scored 12, and Marek Mascho netted 10.
Lechler jumped out nine points as the Hornets took their eight point lead at the first horn. Wellsboro would hit four 3-balls in the second to extend their lead to 15 points at the midway point.
The Rams came out strong in the third, scoring 12 points behind four from Caplan, though Wellsboro matched them with 14 to push their lead to 47-29.
Wyalusing did out score the Hornets in the fourth, 12-9, behind six points from Gartland.
The Rams will host NP-Mansfield on Thursday.
