NTL SWIMMING & DIVING: TOWANDA DROPS A PAIR OF MEETS TO ATHENS (2025-01-09)
Northern Tier Sports ReportTOWANDA — Towanda swimming and diving dropped a pair of dual meets against Athens on Thursday, with the boys falling 109-58, and the girls losing 94-31.
On the boys’ side the Towanda team of Sean Lauber, Lincoln Shanks, Nolan Deacon, and Shane Maghamez took third in 2:19.91, while the foursome of Curtis Carter, Clay Wrisley, Hudson Wheaton, and Nathan Little were fourth in 2:32.85.
Towanda went 2-through-4 in the 200 free with Alex Lantz (2:15.66) second, Sean Lauber (2:19.840 third, and Kenneth Carle (2:27) in third. Shanks was third in the 200 IM in 2:53.29.
Towanda’s Brennick Lain (26.24) was second in the 50 free, followed by Deacon (26.45) in third, while Maghamez (30:23) came in fifth.
Lain won the diving with a score of 143.00.
Lake Strickland (1:00.99) was fourth in the 100 free, while Xander Pratt (1:09.43) came in fifth, and Little (1:18.01) took sixth.
Lantz (6:22.15) was third in the 500 free as Lauber (6:24.75) took fourth, and Wheaton (8:30.93) came in fifth.
Towanda’s 200 free relay of Pratt, Lauber, Lantz, and Lain took second in 1:54.83. The foursome of Maghamez, Wrisley, Wheaton, and Carle were fourth in 2:06.43, while the team of Shanks, Little, Braydin Mattison, and Carter (2:10.95) finished fifth.
Deacon (1:09.81) was second in the 100 backstroke, followed by Maghamez (1:18.72) in third, with Carter (1:26.79) finishing fifth.
Shanks (1:34.85) took fourth in the 100 breaststroke, followed by Pratt (1:54.15).
The Towanda 400 free relay of Deacon, Lain, Wrisley, and Lantz was second in 4:20.28, while the team of Mattison, Strickland, Pratt, and Carle finished third in 4:59.98.
On the girls’ side the team of Allexys Shaffer, Reagan Deacon, Katelyn Blokzyl, and Kylee Barnes took second in 2:40. Morgan Lamphere (3:04.43) was second in the 200 free.
Marin Maynard (33.10) was fourth in the 50 free followed by Barnes (34.05), and Bertille Roth (39.94).
Blokzyl (1:19.06) took fourth in the 100 free as Roth (1:30.03) came in fifth. Lamphere (8:04.60) took second in the 500 free.
Towanda’s 200 free relay of Barnes, Roth, Maynard, and Blokzyl was second in 2:21.54. Barnes (1:32.47) was second in the 100 backstroke.
Deacon (1:38.52) finished third in the 100 breaststroke as Maynard (1:39.24) took fourth.
