NTL BOYS' BASKETBALL: TROY PULLS AWAY FROM WELLSBORO (2025-01-15)

WELLSBORO — Troy fought off a spirited effort from Wellsboro, downing the Hornets 71-54 during NTL boys’ basketball action Tuesday.

The Trojans had just a 10-point lead after three before pouring in 20 fourth quarter points to secure the win.

Evan Woodward had 21 points, seven boards, three assists, and three steals to lead the Trojans while Jack Burbage had a double-double of 13 points, and 10 boards, while adding four assists, and three steals.

Trey Teribury added 17 points, four boards, and three assists, as Lincoln Chimics had 14 points, eight boards, four assists, and two steals.

Joseph Frye notched five assists, and five steals, with Spencer Martin getting two points, and three assists.

Chimics had six points, and Teribury five, to pace Troy to a 16-13 first quarter lead. Burbage poured in eight in the second as the Trojans extended the lead to 32-27 at the half.

Woodward helped Troy out score Wellsboro, 19-14, in the third thanks to seven points, while in the fourth Woodward notched six as the Trojans pulled away.

Troy (9-2) travels to NP-Mansfield on Thursday.
