NTL GIRLS' BASKETBALL: TROY USES HOT SHOOTING TO DOWN WELLSBORO (2025-01-15)
Northern Tier Sports ReportTROY — Troy was on fire from deep against Wellsboro, netting 10 3-balls in their 78-25 win over the Hornets during NTL girls’ basketball action Wednesday.
After taking a 15-9 first quarter lead the Trojans poured in 49 points over the next two quarters to pull away.
Alyssa Parks had 19 points, with three 3-pointers, to lead Troy while Kailyn Sterling, and Giana Renzi had 14 points apiece. Renzi had two 3-balls on the night.
Gloria Andrews hit three 3-pointers en route to nine points, as Haidyn Watson had two 3-pointers to score six. Madelyn Seeley also had six points, with Kyah Renzo, and Realyn Woodward netting four points, while Ella VanNoy chipped in with two.
Chloe Brandenburg led Wellsboro with 15 points.
Troy started off hot as they hit three 3-balls in the first quarter, with Parks pacing them behind a nine point effort to take the six point lead.
The Trojans scored 12 field goals in the second quarter, hitting three 3-pointers again. Sterling had eight points, as Renzi, and Andrews both netted six to put the Trojans up 42-15 at the half.
Troy poured in 22 more points in the third quarter, led by six from Parks to extend their lead to 64-22.
Troy (8-4) hosts NP-Mansfield on Friday.
