NTL BOYS' BASKETBALL: NEB FLIRTS WITH CENTURY MARK IN WIN OVER WILLIAMSON (2025-01-17)

TIOGA JUNCTION — NEB flirted with the century mark in their high scoring 95-65 win over Williamson during NTL boys’ basketball action Thursday.

The Panthers jumped out to a 27-14 lead after one with Williamson making it an 11-point game at the half. NEB then went on to score 55 second half points to get the win.


Cooper Brown had a career high 32 points on 14-for-22 shooting to lead NEB with four boards, three assists, and three steals.


Clay Wilks had a double-double of 15 points on 5-for-9 shooting to go with 12 boards, while adding two steals. 


Tyler Thoman notched 16 points, and three assists, and Eli Stanton had 12 points, seven boards, and four assists.


Tanner Herb and Mac Burgert had eight points each, with Tanner getting four boards, and five assists. Brennin Thoman, and Nate Gross both scored two, as Thoman also had three assists.


Brown had eight points for the Panthers in the opening frame while Tyler Thoman added seven. In the second quarter, though, Williamson out scored NEB 15-13, with Brown netting six to pace the Panthers.


Brown added eight more in the third quarter, while Herb notched five, as part of NEB’s 24-point frame.


In the final quarter Brown (10 points), Tyler Thoman (nine points), and Wilks (seven points) all went off to secure the win.


NEB won the JV game 67-42 as Dan Barrett and Burgert had 17 points each, Nate Gross finished with 16, and Jordan Evans added 15.


NEB (10-4) will host Williamson on Saturday with 7:30 p.m. start.
