SULLIVAN COUNTY FALLS ON THE ROAD TO SAYRE (2025-01-20)

SAYRE — Sullivan County dropped a 64-32 non-league loss to Sayre during boys’ basketball action Monday.

Sayre led 16-8 after one, and kept pulling away.

Cayden Smithkors and Lucas King had seven points each to lead Sullivan, as Tucker Blasi netted six. 

Dominic Marotti notched three with Kameron Brown, Justin Hemighaus, Collin King, and Conner Morgan all netting two each. Jaiden Moore chipped in with one.

Nick Pellicano led four players in double figures with 18.

Karter Green hit two 3-balls en route to eight points to lead Sayre’s first quarter effort when they doubled up the Griffins. 

Sullivan got four points from Blasi, and Smithkors in the second quarter but Sayre extended their lead to 32-19 at the half.

A 19-7 third quarter by the Redskin put the game away.

Sullivan won the JV game 34-28 as Carter Blasi had 10 points.

The Griffins travel to South Williamsport Wednesday.
