NTL BOYS' BASKETBALL: NEB FALLS AT NP-MANSFIELD (2025-01-23)
Northern Tier Sports ReportMANSFIELD — NP-Mansfield scored 20 points or more in the first three quarters as they pulled away from NEB, 74-49, during NTL boys’ hoops action Wednesday.
The Tigers led 21-11 after one, then proceeded to net 27 in the second frame, and 20 in the third.
Cooper Brown had 17 to lead the Panthers, as Tyler Thoman scored 10.
Brennin Thoman notched six, Clay Wilks had five, with Tanner Herb scoring four. Eli Stanton notched three, as Nate Gross, and Dan Barrett had two points each.
Cooper Shaw scored 23 to lead NP-Mansfield.
Brown paced NEB’s first quarter effort with six points, but Shaw went off for 15 in the frame as NPM took the 10-point lead.
NEB would net 16 in the second behind five points from Tyler Thoman and Brown, but NPM hit four 3-balls in the frame to push their lead to 48-27 at the half.
In the third Brown added six more points, but five from Shaw, and Alex Davis, extended the NPM lead to 28.
NEB (11-5) hosts Athens on Friday.
