NTL BOYS' BASKETBALL: TOWANDA USES TOUGH DEFENSE TO DOWN CV (2025-01-23)
Northern Tier Sports ReportWESTFIELD — Towanda’s defense held CV to just five points over the middle quarters as the Knights pulled away for a 60-28 win during NTL boys’ basketball action Wednesday.
Towanda led 15-8 after one, then pushed that lead to 19 at the half. An 18-3 third frame in their favor secured the win.
Boom Thompson had 14 points to lead Towanda, as Ben Shrawder netted 13.
Conner Barnes, and Darrius Farrell had 10 points apiece, with Landon Clark scoring nine, as Markel Garner added four.
Shrawder netted seven first quarter points as Towanda nearly doubled up the Indians.
He added six more in the second to help the Knights take a 29-10 lead at the half.
Thompson led the way in the third with seven points, while Barnes notched six as Towanda extended their lead to 47-13.
Towanda (9-6) will host Canton on Friday.
