ATHENS' RATHBUN NAMED ZIFF LAW FIRM REGIONAL GIRLS "ATHLETE OF THE WEEK"Rathbun not only chalked up nine wins on the week, but won the 132-pound title at the prestigious Coal Cracker Invitational.
Rathbun started her week with three first-period falls in a quad meet at Towanda.
Over
the weekend, Rathbun opened the with three straight first-period falls,
decking opponents in 35 and 52 seconds, then finishing off the streak
in 1:26.
In the quarterfinals, Rathbun scored a 14-4 major decision over Southern Lehigh's Lucia Crossken.
Rathbun
pinned Hughesville standout Avery Puderbach, the fourth seed, in 4:58
in the semifinals, then won by injury default over Montgomery's Brielle
Walk in the finals.

CORNING'S JARDIN-REED NAMED ZIFF LAW FIRM REGIONAL BOYS "ATHLETE OF THE WEEK"Jardin-Reed put his name in a pair of record books this week in a meet against Elmira.
Jardin-Reed set the Section IV six-dive record, along with setting the team and school records with a score of 378.55.
Earlier this season, he set meet records at the Invite at The Glen and at the Waverly Invite.
