NTL WRESTLING: VERMILYAS STILL ALIVE FOR CANTON AT ULTIMATE WARRIOR (2025-01-24)

MORRISDALE — Canton’s Vermilya brothers were still alive after day one of the Ultimate Warrior Wrestling Tournament Friday.

Levi Vermilya (107) went 3-1, while Lyle Vermilya (114) went 2-1 as they wrestled through the consolations.

Levi lost his first match, but then won his next three - all by falls - stay alive. Lyle won his first two matches - one by fall, the other 14-6 - but lost a 6-3 decision to drop into the consolations.

Blane Wesneski (172), Leland Pepper (189), and Tommy Preston (145) all lost out during the first day.

Preston went 2-2, with Wesneski, and Pepper, going 1-2.

Wrestling finishes up on Saturday.
