NTL BOYS' BASKETBALL: NEB HOLDS SAYRE SCORELESS IN FOURTH TO RALLY FOR WIN (2021-02-27)

SAYRE — NEB held Sayre scoreless in the fourth quarter as they rallied for a 43-38 NTL boys’ basketball win Saturday.

Dan Seeley led the Panthers with 19 points and five boards as Lucas Crown finished with a double-double of 11 points and 11 rebounds to go with two assists.

Nick Beers added seven points, 10 boards, three assists and two blocks, while Dan Williams and Ethan Finch had three points and four boards apiece. Finch also had two steals.

Sam Abell chipped in with three assists.

Dom Fabbri had 14 points to lead Sayre as Jackson Hubbard scored 13.

NEB jumped out to a 16-13 first quarter lead behind eight points from Seeley. Hubbard netted eight points as well for Sayre.

The Redskins knotted things up at the half 30-30 as Fabbri hit four 3-pointers in the second quarter, scoring 12 of Sayre’s 17 points.

Crown paced NEB with six points of his own.

Sayre then held NEB to four third quarter points as they took a 38-34 lead into the final frame.

In the fourth NEB out scored Sayre 9-0, behind four points from Seeley, to secure the win.

The Panthers will now see who they host in the District IV, Class AA quarterfinals next week.
