NTL BOYS' BASKETBALL: CANTON FALLS TO MONTGOMERY IN BACK AND FORTH AFFAIR (2025-02-03)

MONTGOMERY — Canton dropped a wild contest at Montgomery, 44-35, during non-league boys’ basketball action Monday.

The Warriors went from up 9-6 after one, to down 28-17 at the half. They cut the deficit to 30-24 going into the final frame, but Montgomery hit three 3-balls in the fourth to pull away.

Ben Fitch netted 16 points to lead the Warriors, with Talin Williams scoring 11. Monte Whitehead scored four, as Rylan Wesneski, and Quincy Wesneski had two points each.

Fitch scored five in the first to pace Canton, but Montgomery outscored them 22-8 in the second. Williams had four points to lead the Warriors.

Canton held Montgomery to just two points in the third as Fitch paced the Warriors with four as they cut the deficit to six points.

In the final frame Fitch scored five, as Williams netted four, but they couldn’t keep up with Montgomery.

Canton (7-13) will travel to NEB on Wednesday.
