NTL SWIMMING & DIVING: TOWANDA COMPETES AGAINST ATHENS, BLOOMSBURG (2025-02-05)
Northern Tier Sports ReportATHENS — Towanda swimmers competed against Athens and Bloomsburg this past Tuesday.
In the girls’ 200 medley relay the Black Knight team of Kylee Barnes, Marin Maynard, Katelyn Blokzyl, and Allexys Shaffer took third in 2:43.30.
In the 200 free Morgan Lamphere (3:02.00) was fifth, with Maynard (32.38) fifth in the 50 free. Barnes (33.34) came in sixth, as Bertille Roth (36.32) took eighth.
Barnes (1:14.08) was fifth in the 100 free as Roth (2:25.40) took seventh. Lamphere (8:06.10) came in second in the 500 free.
The Towanda 200 free relay of Maynard, Blokzyl, Barnes, and Shaffer was fourth in 2:14.32. Maynard (1:40.55) took fourth in the 100 breaststroke, as Reagan Deacon (1:42.66) came in fifth.
On the boys’ side Towanda’s 200 medley relay of Nolan Deacon, Lincoln Shanks, Sean Lauber, and Nathan Little (2:16.40) took fourth, as the foursome of Shane Maghamez, Matthew Weinman, Hudson Wheaton, and Lake Strickland (2:23.56) came in fifth.
In the 200 free Alex Lantz (2:15.74), Lauber (2:19.29), and Kennth Carle (2:28.45) were fourth through sixth. Shanks (2:57.97) came in fourth in the 200 IM.
Brennick Lain (25.57) took fourth in the 50 free with Carle (28.88) seventh, and Xander Pratt (31.14) eighth. Lain (120.60) was second in the diving.
Lantz (1:00.43) came in third in the 100 free as Shanks (1:06.59) was sixth, and Maghamez (1:07.13) took seventh. Wheaton (7:56.20) took third in the 500 free.
The Black Knights had three teams in the 200 free relay, with the foursome of Strickland, Curtis Carter, Carle, and Lauber taking fourth in 1:56.02. Shanks, Maghamez, Pratt, and Weinman were sixth in 2:04.71, while Little, Clay Wrisley, Braydin Mattison, and Lantz finished seventh in 2:11.97.
Deacon (1:08.77) was third in the 100 backstroke while Maghamez (1:17.46) took fourth, and Carter (1:27.55) came in sixth.
Weinman (1:38.91) was fifth in the 100 breaststroke, followed by Strickland (1:40.72), and Pratt (1:53.84).
The Knights also had three 400 free relay teams, led by Deacon, Weinman, Strickland, and Carle in third in 4:29.19.
Lain, Little, Pratt, and Lantz took fourth in 4:33.91, as Carter, Mattison, Wheaton, and Wrisley were fifth in 5:21.60.
