SULLIVAN COUNTY PULLS AWAY FROM MILLVILLE (2025-02-05)

LAPORTE — Sullivan County used a strong second quarter run to beat Millville, 56-36, during Mid-Penn boys’ hoops action Wednesday.

The Griffins led 14-11 after one, then rattled off 20 points in the second frame to pull away.


Colin King had 15 points to lead Sullivan, as Lucas King added 12 points. 


Tucker Blasi chipped in with 11 points, and five assists, while Ryan Murray added nine points. Justin Hemighaus had five points, to go with 12 boards, with Landon Bahr scoring four points. 


Cayden Smithkors chipped in with seven rebounds.


Shane Johnson led the Quakers will 18 points.


Colin King and Murray had four points each to get Sullivan out to their 3-point lead at the first horn.


Blasi then went off for seven points in the second, with Colin King adding six more as Sullivan took a 34-14 lead at the half.


A balanced effort in the third pushed their lead to 47-22 as they secured the win.


Millville won the JV game 50-44 as Madden Fries had 11 points to lead the Quakers.


Sullivan County (11-9) will travel to Northwest on Saturday with a 1 p.m. JV start.
