NTL GIRLS' BASKETBALL: CANTON PULLS AWAY FROM NP-LIBERTY (2025-02-07)
Northern Tier Sports ReportLIBERTY — Canton girls’ hoops won their fourth straight game as they rolled past NP-Liberty, 49-30, during NTL action Friday.
The Warriors took a 10-7 lead after one, but then used a 16-point second quarter to go up 26-12 at the half. They went on to out score NPL 23-18 in the second half.
Kendall Kitchen had 13 points, nine boards, six assists, and three steals to lead Canton, as Lydia Roupp finished with 10 points, and four rebounds.
Danah Wesneski had nine points, plus three assists, with Cailyn VanNoy adding eight points, four boards, four assists, and five steals.
Alexis McRoberts had six points, five boards, and four steals, with Savannah Boyles adding three points.
Kendall Graham had 14 points to lead NPL.
Kitchen and VanNoy had four points each to pace the Warriors in the opening quarter, then Kitchen wen toff for seven in the second as they opened up a 14 point lead going into the locker rooms.
McRoberts stepped up with six points in the third, while Wesneski added five , as they built a 42-22 lead.
Canton (13-7) has now moved into the fourth spot in the District IV, Class AA standings with two games left, beginning with Williamson at home on Monday with a 6 p.m. start.
