NTL BOYS' BASKETBALL: A BIG THIRD QUARTER LEADS TROY PAST JERSEY SHORE (2025-02-08)

JERSEY SHORE — Troy used a big third quarter to pull away from Jersey Shore, 73-58, during non-league boys’ basketball action Saturday.

Troy led 29-28 at the half, but then poured in 25 points in the third to take control of the game. The out scored the Bulldogs 19-17 in the fourth to secure the win.


Evan Woodward, and Lincoln Chimics combined for 40 points to lead Troy. Woodward had 20 points, five assists, four boards, and four steals, as Chimics notched 20 points, seven boards, and four steals.


Jack Burbage had nine points, five rebounds, and six assists, with Trey Teribury getting nine points, as well.


Joseph Frye had eight points, four assists, and four steals, while Spencer Martin finished with seven points, to go with five boards.


Ben Dalton led Jersey Shore with 25 points.


The Bulldogs led 16-12 after one as Dalton scored eight, but Troy rallied with a 17 point second quarter behind six from Teribury, and five out of Burbage, and Woodward.


Chimics exploded for 12 in the third as Woodward added six, to put the Trojans up 54-41. In the fourth Troy went 9-for-10 from the free throw line to nail down the win.


Troy (19-2) will prepare for the first round of the NTL Showdown, which will be on Thursday.
