NTL GIRLS' BASKETBALL: NEB DOWNS BLOOMSBURG ON THE ROAD (2025-02-08)

Northern Tier Sports Report
BLOOMSBURG — NEB shrugged off a slow start as they picked up a 45-38 win over Bloomsburg in non-league girls’ hoops action Saturday.

Bloomsburg led 6-3 after one, but NEB used a 13-point second quarter to take a 16-13 lead at the half.

The two teams had 13 points each in the third, with NEB netting 16 in the fourth to secure the win.

“It was a slow start but good win,” said NEB coach Ben Beebe. “Going on the road against Bloomsburg and coming up with a win is great for us. They are always a test. I feel we really did a good job of closing out the game. It's hard to get the girls to slow down and burn a little clock but they did today.”

Lillie Maynard had 13 points, and five boards, with Leah Beebe scoring 13 points, and grabbing five steals.

Mallorie Maynard added eight points, eight rebounds, and three steals, as Becca VanDeMark had six points, six boards, and four assists.

Lilah Hughes chipped in with four points, and three steals, with Kara Dughi netting one point.

Bella Pistoia and Delaney Zentner scoring 11 points each to lead Bloomsburg.

Lillie Maynard had five points in the second, with Beebe netting four, to lead NEB’s comeback in the second quarter.

In the third Lillie Maynard added six more, with Mallorie Maynard netting five.

Beebe went off for six with VandeMark netting four in the final frame, which saw NEB go 7-for-12 from the charity stripe.

NEB (16-5) will host CV on Monday in their regular season finale.
